Job role: 

An opportunity has arisen for a Food Service Assistant to join our established team at our Merrist Wood College.

Working in a busy College environment you will need to be passionate about delivering great customer service to our staff and student customers. You'll be responsible for the day to day operations of the Catering Outlet, basic preparation of foods and customer service. You'll assist with restocking, deliveries, rotation and presenting our space to the highest standard.

This is a permanent, part time position during term time working 30 hours per week with occasional overtime available if desired. There is flexibility around the working pattern for the right candidate, and there is the possibility for job share so we would welcome applications for partial hours in this role. Because this role is 0.68 Full Time Equivalent, the total salary will be £12,463 per annum, or £9.50 per hour.

 

About you and what do you need to be successful?

The right candidate will have customer service experience, ideally in the hospitality sector, a basic food hygiene certificate or willingness to train, learn and develop.

Work experience in food service/sales and additional catering/hospitality qualifications would be desirable. We will support with attaining a food hygiene certificate at intermediate level.
