About the role: Part Time Animal Management Technician

Activate Learning now have an exciting opportunity for a Animal Management Technician to join our team on a part time basis at our Banbury campus.

You will be responsible for the day to day welfare of the livestock; ensuring animal welfare is paramount and in accordance with current legislation. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness through the animal facility and support in the maintenance and care of animal stocks and facilities, ensuring that animals have sufficient food and water or catering to special dietary requirements if needed.

This is a part time role, working 22 hours per week (0.6 FTE) and fixed term until July 2023, with the potential to extend and increase hours. You will also be required to work on a rota basis with the rest of the team to support cover at weekends and during the holiday periods. 

 

What do you need to be a successful Animal Management Technician at Activate Learning?

You will have a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and experience of working within the animal industry. This would include experience of handling a variety of animal species; i.e. companion animals, birds, fish or exotics species (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates), along with evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace.

You will also need to have a working knowledge of requirements handling the identified species and be educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths & English.
