Activate Learning are looking for a qualified nurse or health professional to teach and join our Health and Social Care teaching team at City of Oxford College. Permanent and fixed term, full-time or part-time opportunities available. 

You may not have considered a job like this before, and you may not have direct experience of teaching or a teaching qualification, but what is more important is that you have a passion and enthusiasm for developing and nurturing the next generation of nursing and allied health professionals.

With your excellent subject knowledge and practice skills, you will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons up to level 3.

Our Academic and Professional Studies department has an excellent record of delivering vocational Health and Social Care courses with employability embedded at their heart. Our state-of-the-art Care Skills Training Centres at each of our campuses also provides our students with a unique opportunity to practice and refine their skills in preparation for clinical industry placements and future employment, find out more here. What do you need to be a successful Health Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.

Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Health and Social Care courses, and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

  • Level 3 or above qualification in health or related subject is essential
  • Experience as a qualified nurse or allied health professional is essential
  • Current member of NMC or another relevant body is desirable, but not essential
  • It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
