About the role: Supply GCSE Maths Teacher
Activate Learning are looking for Maths Teachers to join our Foundation Lifeskills teaching teams at our Surrey Colleges, teaching GCSE Maths to learners on our foundation classes (from Entry 1 – Level 1), starting as soon as possible until December 2022, with the potential to extend to June 2023.
The hours we currently require support are below, please state on your application form your campus preference. There may also be some flexibility in hours around the scheduled timetable.
Guildford College:
- Thursday and Friday mornings
Merrist Wood College:
- Monday (morning or afternoon) and Thursday mornings
Salary: £16.36 - £29.36 per hour, depending on skills and experience
What do you need to be successful Maths Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Maths courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
- Level 3 or above qualification in Maths is essential
- It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
