Activate Learning is looking to recruit a Junior Desktop Technician to offer basic IT technical support in collaboration with the broader IT team across the group, with opportunities at City of Oxford College or UTC Oxfordshire. 

You will ensure that IT support requests are managed effectively and responded to in a timely manner, either by completing requests themselves or raising them with our IT team where necessary.

Our IT department covers the support and maintenance of all the system technologies used on our UK based campuses.  Each part of IT Services plays a key role in the student’s academic journey, ensuring they are given the tools to achieve the best possible qualifications.

  • Location - City of Oxford College or UTC Oxfordshire in Didcot. The role may also require occasional travel to other sites across the group. Travel/mileage expenses can be claimed for any travel from your base campus.
  • Salary - £19,048 to £20,803 per annum, depending on skills and experience.  
  • Hours -  Full time, permanent position working 37 hours a week, 08:30 – 17:00 with a 16:30 finish on a Friday.

 

What do you need to be a successful Junior Desktop Technician at Activate Learning?

You will need to be passionate about IT and delivering an outstanding customer service to a range of employees across the Group. 

We are looking for people who enjoy working as part of team, but also have the self-motivation to work independently to support us in delivering a speedy IT Desktop Service. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Basic knowledge of IT software, systems, networks platforms and hardware  
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong telephone manner
  • Experience using Windows 10 and Office applications
  • Good technical troubleshooting abilities are desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
