We are seeking a Logistic Officer to join our Face-to-Face Membership Fundraising Team. The position entails overseeing the distribution of physical resources to the team in a timely manner and ensuring that support systems run smoothly, communicating any changes to working processes effectively. This could be a desirable secondment opportunity.

What are the roles about? 

Membership is crucial to the future of the RSPB, and the Face-to-Face Membership Logistics Officers are essential to ensure our public-facing staff have everything they need to inspire the public.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our successful Face to Face (F2F) Membership Team, helping to raise the much-needed funds to continue our work to save nature by providing excellent logistical support. This will include managing physical resources, ensuring their timely distribution to the team, and ensuring support systems are run effectively, with clear communication of any changes to working processes.

Whilst there is flexibility around home-working and location, this position requires regular visits to UKHQ (The Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire) and our logistics partner in Weedon, Northamptonshire.

You will be responsible for the smooth distribution of uniforms, stock and other resources to every member of the team and overseeing the key processes that underpin the administration of the team, including using specialised computer software programmes. The roles demand a commitment to managing a diverse and varied daily workload, supporting the F2F team to deliver its targets and building excellent relationships across the organisation.  If you have a high level of attention to detail, a desire to constantly review and improve processes, and excellent communication skills, then we want to hear from you!

Essential skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), plus the ability to share this knowledge with others
  • Knowledge of document management and team collaboration tools
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences whether by phone, email or in person
  • Able to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Experience of providing administrative support within a large and complex organisation
  • Experience of office management and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Experience of liaising with staff at all levels in external organisations, particularly to support partnership working

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of complying with health and safety codes of practice
