About the role:

Activate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Art and Design Teacher to join our teaching team based at Banbury and Bicester College campus.

The Art & Design Teacher will deliver across our qualifications, with particular focus on Level 2, but also including levels 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential, develop their attributes and become lifelong learners. This is a part time role working 30 hours per week (0.81 FTE), ideally starting in January 2023.

What do you need to be an Art and Design Teacher at Activate Learning?

As the Art & Design Teacher, you will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, preferably with a fine art base, recent teaching experience in an FE environment, and a working knowledge of UAL Art & Design programmes. You will also have a proven track record of managing and tutoring student groups.

Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification.

The ideal candidate:

  • You will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree
  • Recent teaching experience in an FE environment and a working knowledge of UAL Art & Design programmes
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully support student progression onto higher education or into the workplace
  • An open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools
  • Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners
