Activate Learning now have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Careers Adviser to join our Activate Careers team to provide impartial, information, advice and guidance. You will be supporting young people to learn about the world of work and to plan their next steps.

In this incredibly rewarding role, every day is different. You could be:

  • Delivering Career Planning and Options group sessions 
  • Working with students on their UCAS or Apprenticeship applications
  • Supporting students in their job search and application process
  • Collaborating with employers to add value to our Careers Education programme

And of course, at the heart of our support, providing impartial guidance interviews.

This role is part time (25 hours per week, term time only), based at Reading College, with occasional travel to other campuses to support with cross campus delivery.

Annual salary range between £27,007 - £28,649 per annum pro rata, depending on experience.

 

What do you need to be a successful Careers Adviser at Activate Learning?

We are looking for a qualified careers guidance professional with excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • L6 qualification in Careers Guidance.
  • Experience of delivering interactive group sessions.
  • Experience of delivering 1-1 guidance interviews and SMART action plans
  • Knowledge of qualification types and routes
  • An understanding of the Gatsby benchmarks and the CDI framework

In addition, you will have the ability to develop effective relationships with students, staff, employers, and other external partners to assist our delivery of a varied careers education programme.
