We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistants to join our team at Oxford College. 

We currently have 1 full time (35 hours per week) and 1 part time (21 hours per week) positions available, offering permanent term-time only contracts. Job share will also be considered.

The successful applicant’s will be supporting students with a range of learning difficulties including Autism and profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD) on courses which are designed for those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities aged between 16 and 22.

The main duties will be assisting students in their classroom-based lessons and supporting self-directed study times with the student on a 1:1 basis.  In addition to a student's study programme the LSA may also be following a bespoke programme of learning to support their development of life skills, independence and employability.

Personal care is part of the duties included in this role and training will be provided in giving medical care and support.

The hourly rate offered for these positions is starting from £9.87. 

(Term time only salary calculator - your pay will be based on your working hours per week, multiplied by the number of weeks worked, plus 6 weeks holiday and will be spread equally over 12 months).

(For casual employees you will submit a claim for the actual hours worked and this will be paid in arrears).

 

About you and what do you need to be successful?

This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience.  

You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties; some of which are complex. You will have good communication skills to be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
