Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Gartree are seeking efficient and flexible individuals to help support their education provision. You will be a team player, with a high standard of verbal and written communication. There are various duties for non-teaching staff, vital to supporting the learners to achieve and the staff to meet their expected delivery.

 

The potential support roles that would require covering fall within our LDD (learning difficulties and disabilities) and admin teams. These duties would include filing, paperwork, data handling, working with awarding bodies to register learners and claim certificates, supporting action plans and induction screening and more.

 

In terms of working pattern/cover hours - these would fall between Monday to Thursday - 8.25 hours for full days (8:00 to 17:00 with a 45-minute lunch) and Friday mornings - 4 hours (8:00 to 12:00), so you would need to be available within these times.

ABOUT HMP Gartree

HMP Gartree is a Cat B lifer prison which houses just over 700 life sentence prisoners. The education department offers a wide range of courses which include Functional Skills maths and English and ESOL, a wide range of GCSE’s, Peer Mentoring and a good suite of both Art and ICT qualifications that include Web design and E-image. NVQ’s in Catering are also delivered with excellent facilities and” hands on” experience in our own Flavours staff restaurant.
