We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistants to join our ASC Centre team at Reading College.
We have a full time and part time positions available on a permanent contract. When submitting your application, please include a cover letter stating your preferred working hours/days and whether you are looking for full time or part time hours.

Please note - The centre is open between the hours of 8.30am - 4pm or 9am - 4.30pm and you will need to be able to work within these times.

Job role:

The successful applicant’s will be supporting students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses which are designed for those with Autism and learning difficulties or supporting students to access a course from Foundation to Level 3.

You will be responsible for facilitating individual learning programmes and providing support to our learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres. You will be required to facilitate the students learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning in collaboration with the ASC Coordinators to meet the needs of the learners. You may also be required to support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.

Personal care can form part of the duties included in this role and training will be provided.

The hourly rate offered for these positions is from £9.87 - £10.78ph depending on skills and experience.

(Term time only salary calculator - your pay will be based on your working hours per week, multiplied by the number of weeks worked, plus 6 weeks holiday and will be spread equally over 12 months).

(For casual employees you will submit a claim for the actual hours worked and this will be paid in arrears).

What do you need to be successful in this role?

This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience.

You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties. You will have good communication skills to be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
