Activate Learning are now looking for enthusiastic and inspiring ESOL teachers to join our Lifeskills faculty based at our Guildford College campus on a casual basis. The Lifeskills team work to support learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for teachers with passion and drive who are committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post holders will predominately be teaching on our Adult and Foundation ESOL courses, with additional evening sessions available.

Please state on your application form any details of your availability such as only being available on certain days of the week or shift patterns which may affect your ability to be available.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

Successful candidates will have an ESOL teaching qualification (CertTESOL/DipTESOL/CELTA/DELTA) and experience teaching in levels E1, E2, E3 and L1. Whilst we would prefer applications from experienced teachers who hold a PGCE or degree, we would consider applications from applicants with little or no teaching experience who have the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a PGCE or equivalent Post Compulsory Education Level 5 qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
