Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join the RSPB’s Conservation Data Management Unit to manage the delivery of a range of technology projects supporting the RSPB’s conservation work.
What's the role about?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of managing projects to help us drive forward development and delivery of our newly evolving programme of work. Working with stakeholders across the RSPB you will help to deliver technical projects to provide the systems and processes needed to support the RSPB’s conservation work. You will be helping to deliver effective solutions using a range of GIS, apps and custom development in partnership with the RSPB’s Conservation Data Management Unit. You will be happy to be involved in all aspects of the projects, helping out the project teams with activities such as business analysis, testing and communications as required.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Excellent project management skills and proven project management experience with technical projects
Experience of motivating and encouraging project boards and teams to ensure value and benefits are delivered - challenging and driving forwards activities as required.
An ability to produce clear written communications.
An ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
Demonstrable ability to manage changes within projects
Proven time management and organisational skills
Experience of working to a standard project management approach (eg RSPB Project Management Framework, Prince II).
Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Logical & methodical, analytical and a good eye for detail.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
A track record in change management
Agile project management methodology
Experience of GIS especially the ESRI platform
Experience of working in the conservation sector or related activities
This is a Fixed-Term contract for 2 years, Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week.
The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
